‘Immerse’ reclaims the exposed balcony as a multifunctional garden room — a private sanctuary designed for the realities of modern urban living. Privacy in the form of terracotta screening and layered planting suspended overhead, encourages you into the space. Custom-designed, adaptable furniture and integrated storage allow the compact footprint to perform multiple roles without compromise.

A copper pizza oven, concealed laundry facilities, and a collapsible daybed and dining setting enable the space to transition effortlessly — from quiet morning rituals and working from home to evening gatherings with shared meals.

Immerse demonstrates how even the most exposed balcony can become an abundant, immersive retreat that supports daily life, wellbeing and escape above the city.

2024 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show

‘Oasis’ is a cool and green refuge in our increasingly dry and concreted suburbs. It is designed to be both low-maintenance and beautiful, with a show-stopping collection of
unusual sculptural plants placed within cloud-like forms of silvery-grey perennials and aqua groundcovers.

Designed in collaboration in Plantery and sponsored by Living Sculptures, Ausflora Pacific, Yarrabeestone and Outdoor Showers.
‘Oasis’ was a creative experiment in reimagining what an arid garden scheme could look like in Melbourne’s suburbs. 
The aim was to offer a fuller, altogether softer alternative to the classic arid garden – something filled with contrasts and a-symmetrical balance. 
Fluffy beside spiky, bold next to delicate, wiry partnered with silky – Oasis was texture poetry!
With so many contrasting textures in the foliage, a limited colour spectrum of silver to blue-green with pops of pink was rigorously selected. That helped pull everything together and gave ‘Oasis’ that peaceful feeling that so many of the 100,000 people who visited the show commented on.
Oasis was designed to need less than one hour a month to maintain and thrive on Melbourne inner-suburbs natural rain fall.
With nesting spots, nectar and berries on offer, as well as fresh water, the aim was to provide valuable habitat for declining small birds and invertebrates from aggressive birds like noisy minors.
